Baby bragging

Oops.  It's been almost a month.  I just do not even have TIME to blog!  I cannot figure out how some moms can write 3 or 4 posts a DAY, sometimes!

This summer has been so much fun for our family!  Kate and Drew have both been doing so many new things, it's hard to keep up!  Drew is 4 months now and Kate is 16 months.  I can always keep track of their ages now... A simple 12 months in between!  ;)

Drew is a champ.  He is the world's best smiler and is such a relaxed baby.  He has to be, with a total first born child as his big sister!  He is so ticklish, and always has been.  It's just that now he giggles when he's tickled.  He wants to look at people all the time, so he's lucky to have some built in entertainment!  He will watch Kate wherever. she. goes.  He loves his big sister.  He thinks that bath time is the greatest invention and being outside is almost as fun!  He is really interactive with his toys that hang down within his reach and he especially likes the ones that make noise.  He is used to getting clocked in the head with a sippy cup and having a pacifier jammed into his face.  He is a ferocious drooler, just as Kate was at this age, but according to the pediatrician yesterday at his 4 mo. appointment, it's all in vain.  No teeth on the way, yet!  In general, Drew just doesn't cry.  He's a sweet, sweet boy whose smiles indicate that he is in love with his family!

Kate.  Oh my.  She's such a little girl.  I can't decide if I love it so much I can't stand it or if I want to cry because she's so grown up.  She thinks that SHE is Drew's caretaker, and works very hard to see that he is content.  If a pacifier is in sight, it must go in his mouth.  Even if he doesn't want it.  And if he doesn't open his mouth, she can be heard saying, "Aaaaaahhhh."  She'll show him how it's done!  He should always be covered with a blanket, so she will drag one across the room to place on top of him.  Even if the placement happens to be over his face.  We're still working on that part.  She likes to rock him in his swing ("Ra, ra, ra, ra") and rub or pat his back and tummy.  She runs to his room when she hears him fuss and wants to help get him out of bed.  She loves to be helpful in any way possible.  She will deliver items from Mom to Dad and gets a kick out of throwing things away, especially diapers!  She will greet anyone or tell them "bye," and most likely will blow kisses at the same time.  Dancing is also a pretty fun activity.  Her new favorite fruit is peaches, she doesn't want to have a thing to do with veggies, and she likes eating a banana or a sandwich by herself.  Oh, she is so pleased with herself!  She is learning manners and likes to knock on any door if it's closed ("Dat, dat") and she enjoys praying with us before meals.  She will sit quietly and hold our hands and then make some loud triumphant noise when we say amen.

I could say so much more about my sweet babies (will they always be babies in my mind?), but it's taken me multiple days to even get this post written and it needs to end!  Just for entertainment value, here are the latest stats of the Greenhill kids.  LOOK OUT, KATE!  And, a picture of each, plus a video of Drew's giggles and Kate's diva-ness coming through because she's not on the camera, followed up with her tricks!
